Gero Onsen Yunoshimakan, a long-standing Japanese-style inn, is located in Gero Onsen. This ryokan was founded in 1931. It has been honored to host the former Emperor Showa as well as the current Emperor Akihito. Built in traditional sukiya-style, the wooden structure is more than 80 years old and took three years by Hida artisans, who are well-known for their skilled techniques. This building has been designated a National Tangible Cultural Asset. Each room enjoys a breathtaking view because it is located in the forest. The garden around the ryokan was created in harmony with many centenarian Japanese cedars and cypresses that were naturally grown there. Every season has its own unique beauty, with beautiful flowers and green leaves. Our guests can walk in the woods or bird-watch on the nearby trekking track.
