This hotel sits in the historical center of
Cordoba, next to the Roman Wall which marks the boundaries of the primitive village of La Axarquia. Reflecting both antique Arab and Roman architecture, Macia Alfaros is adorned with geometric designs, mosaics, pillars, and arches, all recalling the origins of this World Heritage site. Visitors will enjoy being situated on a little street within a few minutes' walk to the great square, packed with shops and restaurants, while history buffs won't want to miss the 8th century mosque with its 16th century cathedral built transversely nearby. Adjoining the first Christian chapel to be built in the Moorish mosque is a masterpiece of Mudejar architecture which was the burial site of Ferdinand IV and Alfonso XI of Castile. On the north side of the Camposanto lies the old Jewish Quarter with its whitewashed houses, decorative patios, and distinctive atmosphere.
